House Tour | One Year of DIYs
It’s hard to believe, but when I shot this video we had been living in our home for one year and four months. Buying was a blur, especially in the midst of COVID-19 quarantine and teaching second grade remotely. Everything is coming together in such a lovely way, but all I can think about is our next round of renovations. Sometimes I walk around our home stunned by how much has changed since we took that original house tour with our real estate agent. Other days I feel the frustration of a million unfinished (and even un-started) projects.
That’s why I love making these house tour videos. I can directly compare where we were with where we are and that gets me inspired to keep moving toward where we’re going. Creating a home you love takes time, and I don’t want to rush it.
Throughout this video I outline projects I have in mind for the coming year. After taking a break during the first part of 2023, I’m coming back strong with projects this spring and summer. I want to spend as little money as I can, taking the time to learn how to build each little piece myself. I’m sharing it all on my YouTube channel and here on the blog, so make sure to follow along in both places so you don’t miss it.
If you have any advice to share I’d love to hear your ideas in the comments below.
